Modder ‘Phize’ has released a new mod for Dark Souls 2 that enables proper offline mode. Thanks to this mod, PC gamers can finally enjoy Dark Souls 2 in offline mode without having to go offline on Steam, disable network adapters, or other workarounds.
According to the modder, this Dark Souls 2 offline mod works by intercepting the socket API used by the game, and prevents it from initializing. It does not modify any existing game files and comes in the form of a GUI app that lets you install/uninstall easily.
